A lovely couple starts a family, and they find themselves in need of a larger home. Common story, uncommonly great family.
Kids happen. Life happens. And then the words of David Byrne are suddenly pertinent: "Well, how did I get here?"
Such is Lorrain. Good news on this one—there was a lovely little old house as a base—in a great neighborhood to boot.
From there, it was additive. A glass box living room, a cozy playroom, bedrooms for the guests and kids, and of course rooftop and backyard gardens for the advanced gardener/owner.
Nestling the house carefully among the site’s many mature plants and trees, this project is a treehouse as much as a family home. There they live happily now, letting the days go by, water flowing underground. And hopefully, at least one neighbor has asked “What is that beautiful house?”
